Blog Traffic and Social Media Update September 2017
Table of Contents
Hello Not Taught At School readers ?
Welcome to my latest update on the blog – Blog Traffic and Social Media September 2017.
After 5 months of blogging, late nights, designing Pins for Pinterest, PR releases, being active in lots of Facebook groups, SEO on every single post including TAGS, social backlinks and sharing content on every platform, page views are up again.
Thank You!!!
Over the last few months, I have spent hours and hours on SEO for every single post including – TAGS for each post, keywords, comments and more.
Not only am I targeting long tail keyword phrases but also using 20 tags in every post and the results have been incredible.
I also went and ran a few facebook campaigns. I've not done these for a while BUT the results are insane if you get your analytics and customer profile right.
I used to sell t-shirts and mugs on Gear bubble and used Facebook ads to drive traffic to these promotions.
Once you get an ad campaign that connects with your audience then you just scale up!
I never really thought of running ad campaigns from Facebook to a blog but then I realised if I could get the right audience then it would be easy to drive traffic and the results for the last week of September are below.
Pageviews from Pinterest increased and also Google+ as I have joined quite a few blogging groups and also work from home / earn online groups.
I also believe my blog views continue to grow for a few reasons and they include the following…
1 – Tailwind
I couldn’t recommend this product enough.
When I first started on Pinterest I was pinning daily and sharing other peoples pins but my traffic was very low.
Between 5 and 10 page views a day!
Since I joined Tailwind my views have gone up and also engagement on my Pinterest account.
It saves me hours and will do the same for you with the many features available.
You can schedule pins, track your statics and much more.
The Tribes feature is a great tool to help with getting more views on your blog also.
You can see my Pinterest account here and I would love for you to follow me ?
2 – Facebook Groups
I am very active in several Facebook groups and my traffic has improved lots since I joined these groups.
I wrote a post about the different groups on facebook you can join to increase traffic to your blog.
If you missed this you can see it by clicking here
Not only do these groups help with getting traffic to your blog but also everyone in the groups offer lots of advice and great tips to grow your blog.
3 – Syndlab
This is an incredible piece of software and very cheap for what it does.
It schedules your blog post to all the social media sites, bookmarking sites and gives you lots of backlinks and helps to increase your rankings in Google.
I highly recommend it to all my readers.
You can see the full review and how this can help you boost your blog rankings here.
So let’s jump into this and let me show you how to increase your page views also.
Blog Traffic September 2017
I will be sharing a Blog Traffic and Social Media Update each month.
There are a few reasons why I am going to do this and they are as follows:
1 – By publishing them I can’t hide away from the facts. If my page views drop then it means I have to work harder.
2 – Setting goals – I think it’s very important to not only set goals but also share them with others. I can look back on the previous month and see where I need to focus more to hit these goals.
3 – Sharing with other bloggers. I read other bloggers updates and this really encourages me and gives me guidance.
I hope you get some benefit by me sharing this also.
85,770 page views! INSANE!!
This has increased by 80,045 since last month!
Honestly gobsmacked by this number and amount of page views!
Plus over 10% of readers have returned since last month.
I never thought that I would see such a huge jump in page views in a single month, but I don't know why I never used ad campaigns before to drive traffic as this is what I used to do in the past.
Recap for September 2017
10,000 views on the blog – YES – And an extra 70,000 more!
Pinterest – Manual pinning – I committed to manual pinning for an hour every single day and to be honest this has been hard including doing this on weekends, however, I have seen my Pinterest views jump from 30/50 a day to 150/160 a day.
Followers on Pinterest up to 1500 – YES – Currently sitting on 1502 followers 🙂
Facebook page to 80 likes –YES – My likes on the page are up to 450.
Interviews – YES – I published another 2 articles in the interview series and if you missed them you can have a read by clicking on the images below.
Both interviews were great and they shared some great insight and tips for you.
Members Area
I added more FREE content to the member's area in September.
You can get lots of great free tools in the member’s area including e-books, checklists, guides and more to help grow your business or blog.
You can get access to the member’s area here
Goals for October 2017 – Blog Traffic
90,000 views on the blog – Got to keep increasing from the previous month!
Followers on Pinterest up to 1600 – I am currently on 1502 so another 98 followers would be incredible.
Facebook page to 1050 likes – As I gained a lot of new likes last month I would like to attract more followers to my page.
Interviews – Continue with the interview series and search for more people who earn money from home. I really like these and the insights shared so far have been great.
SEO and Silo Structure – Continue working on SEO for every single article and linking each post. This has been a key reason for the huge growth over the last few months. Plus continue using Syndlab for every new article.
Hibs – To feature in the top 500 list, HIBS is home to the UK's best and most influential lifestyle blogs.
Final Thoughts
September was a great month for my blog in terms of views and also understanding the way forward with it.
Moving forward I will continue with the facebook adds and also following a set of guidelines for each post to make sure I am setting it up for maximum exposure.
I am finding that once I write a post the next 4/5 days are spent on marketing and sharing it everywhere.
My best bit of advice for any blogger is this – After you hit publish then start the hard work on marketing that post.
I share every article to lots of social media platforms including Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, Twitter, Tumblr, Google+, Tumblr, Quora and more.
Google+ groups are also a really great place to chat to other bloggers and share your content, I am starting to receive a lot of views from the groups I am in, mainly work from home and people looking to earn online.
Ultimately It’s hard to keep up with a blog. It requires a lot of time and effort.
But if you work to a set of guidelines it does become much easier.
Do you follow a set of guidelines?
Seeing my page views jump each month is awesome and I know the more people that visit my blog then they will find a post which will help them and that’s why I continue to write.
I love receiving emails and also reading the comments from my readers each week.
Plus I hope one day this little blog of mine will provide for me and my family.
No more sat in traffic for hours, being away from home, missing my family and continually feeling tired.
I know it will be worth it in the end.
Now over to you.

Wow….this is a great improvement but the question is, since you’re using a software to increase your traffics ….. Is it not robot or machines that are reading your articles or is it promoting it to real humanbeings ?
Hi Reginald
The software is sending the article to social networks so the views are from real people on the sites.
It sends the articles to Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Google+ and many more.
It’s also great for backlinks which search engines love.
Thanks

This is so inspiring! I would love to get that many page views. I started blogging in late June, and I have implemented strategies with Pinterest, Facebook groups, Stumbleupon etc. But I’m struggling making the transition from ”starting out” and actually blogging. I hardly get 1000 views a month. Maybe I need to be doing a lot more of what I am already doing, maybe I need to try something different…I’m not quite sure.
The info about Facebook groups and campaigns is great, will definitely be looking at that in detail. Thanks for the post and keep up the awesome work!

Hi Taylor
Thank you 🙂
I would definitely say the hard part is the advertising of each post/article once you have written it.
What strategies are you using on Pinterest?
Facebook groups are great but can be time-consuming unless you manage them properly and have a proper routine set up.
Getting 1000 views a month is AWESOME considering you only started in June, congrats 🙂
Thanks for leaving a comment and good luck

It is so important to know all of this, it really does affect you and help you out when blogging. This is amazing how well you are doing!
Hi Andrea
Thank you for commenting and yes its very important to not only write good content but also market and share your post once done.
Take care

Mark, that is INCREDIBLE!!! Seriously – talk about kicking ass with your goals.
One huge huge takeaway: “After you hit publish then start the hard work on marketing that post.”
YES. Honestly, it’s pretty weird but, I don’t spend as much time writing anymore (I do need to change that haha). I’m also finding ways to improve my blog design, but mostly marketing the heck out of the posts I write.
Cheers!!
Hi Krista
Thank you 🙂
I think many people put in lots of time on the content and then forget to market it I really do.
Your blog is awesome and I love your writing, thanks for leaving a comment.

Wow, you had a great month! I’m working on my page views, but I am struggling and staying under 100,000. I’d love to hit 100k soon! That’s my next goal.
Hi Alexis
Thank you and it was very unexpected!
How many page views are you currently getting?
Thanks
