YouTube has become one of the most popular platforms on the internet. It is a great way to share your videos, promote your brand and interact with others.
But you can't just sit back and hope for people to find your channel, there are many ways that you can actively promote it!
In this blog post, we will go over five different strategies that will help get more views and subscribers.
So if you have been looking for a way to grow your YouTube channel then keep reading because these are all pretty simple to follow along with.
How To Promote Your YouTube Channel?
Table of Contents
Below I will share 5 really simple ways you can promote your YouTube channel and videos. All of these take very little time and are 100% worth you spending a bit of time to grow your channel.
Also, some of these methods can actually run on autopilot once you have them set up so these require little effort or time.
Promoting your YouTube channel can be time-consuming, but it doesn't have to be.
There are plenty of ways for you to get the word out about what's going on with your videos while still focusing on making content that people love!
Method 1: Choose Your Keywords Wisely!
Maybe you have read about all the different ways to optimise your YouTube video?
Some examples include:
- SEO techniques for video titles so search engines can find them when people are searching for information related to the topic of your video.
- How to optimize descriptions with keywords so viewers know what they’re going to see before clicking play.
- And finally, how to get more views by using tags in the description field of each video that match popular searches on Google or other search engines like Bing or Yahoo!.
This way, when someone does a search for something related to what you're talking about in the video, it'll show up as one of the top results on YouTube!
At least that is one theory or method to grow your YouTube channel.
However, SEO or search engine optimisation is just one way to get views on your videos.
If all of the above sounds like a foreign language to you, the simplest way to describe YouTube SEO is this.
Someone types a search term into YouTube, depending on a number of factors and how well your YouTube video is optimised your video will be given a rank ie where it will appear on YouTube.
So, if I type this search term into YouTube …. Affiliate Marketing Case Study.
We will be shown hundreds of videos with the search term in the title and also videos with a similar title.
Currently, my video is ranked in position number one. It changes daily but it's normally in position number one or two.
This is pretty awesome because everyone wants the quickest results for their search term online, they are not going to skip through lots of videos and watch a video on page 4 or 5.
The above is just one example of a video I am ranking on YouTube, I have hundreds more across several channels which feature in position number one or two.
And because that video is featured in position number one, people watch the video, hopefully, find it useful and also subscribe to the channel. This is an organic way to grow your YouTube channel.
Method 2: Create Playlists.
I always recommend playlists for a couple of reasons.
Similar to SEO for your videos, playlists can actually show up in the YouTube search results and can also appear in the suggested video column.
And these are a great way to keep viewers on your channel watching more of your videos because when one video ends the next one starts to play.
If we continue with the above example of “Affiliate Marketing Case Study” you can see in the image below that I have created a playlist with this exact keyword.
Inside this playlist, there are currently 6 videos and this playlist is showing up in the YouTube search.
It is even higher than some individual videos with thousands of videos.
So, just by adding your video to a playlist it is giving it even more potential to get views and you only have to create one video.
It takes less than 60 seconds to create a playlist and add any relevant videos to it so I always recommend this method for growing and promoting your YouTube channel.
Method 3: Promote Your Videos on Other Platforms.
You can do this by sharing a video on Facebook or Twitter, posting it as an “Instagram Story,” linking them in emails and more.
The idea is that you want to use different platforms- not just the one you are most comfortable with- so that your message reaches people across all channels.
Plus you can do this manually (this doesn't take very long) Or you can automate the entire process using a website like If this then that.
Sharing a video from YouTube direct is very simple, under every video you will see a box saying “Share”
Simply click on here and you can share the video directly onto many platforms including, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Reddit and many more.
However, if this sounds like too much work for you then you can automate the entire process.
An awesome website you can use is called IFTTT (If This Then That)
Plus, it is also free to create an account and only takes a few minutes to set everything up.
How It Works:
You connect your YouTube channel with Applets which are basically different services like Facebook, Twitter etc.
Then, whenever you upload a new video on YouTube it is automatically shared on all the different social platforms you have connected inside IFTTT.
I have this set up for all my YouTube channels and it not only helps to have your videos on many different platforms, but it is also bringing you in social links which can help with video rankings.
Method 4: Post on Your Own Blog.
This is also another free option for you.
Head over to a free website builder like Blogger and create a free account.
Once you have created an account you can simply share your videos on the blog.
And I would share every video you upload with the goal of just driving traffic back to your main channel and keeping people engaged in whatever you are doing.
Here is how it looks inside one of my older blogger websites:
Setting up your blog takes about 10 minutes, there is no code to learn and it's just simple drag and drop.
Once it is set up you simply click the share button from YouTube which we discussed earlier.
Then you embed the video into a blog post, this will help with video views and also page views.
Method 5: Build Authority And Build Relationships.
It can take a while to build up your channel, but with the right dedication and time, you'll be able to share videos in any category or niche and dominate it.
You may also want to reach out to other creators for collaborations on new content – they could help give you different perspectives!
To become an authority in what you do, it is important to work hard and be consistent. You want your audience to see that there is nothing else going on except for the topic they are interested in.
If you want people to know about a certain field of expertise or interest, then you should make sure not only that your online presence reflects this but also makes you seem like the expert by staying ahead of trends within your chosen niche.
